I cann't get my cd burn to write I was told to check the
DMA box in my bios How do I access it in XP

system properties >> hardware >> device manager

I believe a normal install allows the DMA enable box to be accessed at the
IDE controller level instead of at the drive level.

Once you turn on computer, during initial startup press F2 to enter bios

How do you know he has to press F2? AFAIK only Dells use F2 (I could be
wrong about that though) - do you know he has a Dell? Just because that's
the key *you* use to enter the BIOS on *your* system, doesn't mean to say it
will be the same for everyone else, because it won't. It's more likely to be
[DEL], though I've had systems that have used F11, F12, Home, Insert and
End.

Please don't generalise - you're giving the guy false information.
