View Full Version : XP Home "RUN" Command

Have a neighbor with XP Home and when I enter a command in the RUN window,
the window opens quickly and then closes immediately. The same thing is
happening with Task Manager. I am logged on to an admin account. I need to
access regedit but can't keep the window open long enough to do it. Weird!
Ideas?

Better run an antivirus scan and also a "spyware/adware" scanner. Some
spyware denies you access to these areas, as well as some viruses and Trojan
horses. For spyware removal I use SpyBot Search & Destroy
(http://security.kolla.de/). I have AVG antivirus installed and it's a
freeware antivirus program which has worked excellently for me
(http://www.grisoft.com/). Go to any of the major Antivirus program makers
and most have all kinds of Trojan Horse removal programs (free) which you
can download and run. Trendmicro has an online virus & Trojan scanner which
you can also run, if you want a remote site to remove these from your hard
drive (http://www.trendmicro.com/).
