system restore will do very little for system tools, but
ms likes to pass the buck. if ya want something a little
better try (go back)

He wasn't referring to System Restore, he was referring to the
manufacturer's recovery CD. System Restore was not and is not meant as a
full system restore and it has never been billed as such. System Restore
was meant to enable a user to quickly recover from a situation where corrupt
or changed system settings have caused an issue from which the user can
quickly recover using SR.

GoBack is a fine application, a bit to robust for the uninitiated but it's
purpose for most users goes well beyond that of SR. However, all too often,
users use GoBack instead of a good backup scenario and GoBack, like SR, is
not a system backup, it is a recovery tool.
