Each time I log off using the destop, Start,Turn off
Computer, Turn off, I get the message "program is not
responding, if you want to return to windows hit OK or
hit cancel to exit". The name of the program not
reponding is MCI. I don't have any programs named MCI.
What can be causing this and how can I fix it.

While you may not have an application called "mci", clearly there is an
executable file running with the name "mci" which is not responding.

During shutdown like this, "Not responding" can occur when the program
is indeed not reponding and has died. Alternatively, an application
that is displaying a dialog box awaiting a user response will also cause
this message to appear.

In your case, search your hard disk for the file "mci.*" to find out
where it is stored. Then look at the folder it's stored in and/or the
file properties to get a clue about what the file is what it might be doing.

If after this you still don't know what it is, it might be a file placed
there by a computer virus, worm, or "spybot" program ...
