I am trying to access my system volume information folder
but access is denied. I have changed the view file types
to let me see it but I cannot open the folder. In the
Microsoft database, it instucts you to go to the
properties of this foler and select the security tab.
However, that tab does not show up, only Sharing and
Options. This is on a laptop and I am the only user.

In Home edition you must do that in Safe Mode boot.

Why would you want to access it?

What can be a reason for accessing it though?

To see what is in it of course - you know the
curious cat story.
Some malware is known to store things there.
I recommend that if one is changing its permissons
that one only add Users Read.
