View Full Version : Help - Windoiws Explorer acting funny (XP)

I am using Windows Explorer (XP) to edit scanned pictures in one
subdirectory. I use 'thumbnails' for the view option

I find that when I rename pictures, that the filenames under the
thumbnail pics get all mixed up. That is, the file name is incorrect
for the pic.

Why is this?

Young,

It sounds as if you have a corrupted thumbs.db file for your photos. Try
the following.

Go into the folder that is having this problem.
Change the view to a non thumbnail view. (View - Tiles.)
Tools - Folder Options - View - Uncheck "Hide unprotected operating system
files (Recommended).
Click Ok.
Delete the thumbs.db file in that directory.
Change the view back to thumbnail (View - Thumbnails).
Tools - Folder Options - View - Check "Hide unprotected operating system
files (Recommended).

This should correct your issue.

Thx,
Nico
