I went to a website and now I get a ton of pop ups and
things. Is there I a way I can stop this from happening
or get them out of my system?

You can also download the FREE toolbar from
www.google.com. It has stopped hundreds of popups for me
and did I mention it is FREE! :-)

I run a program called AdSubtrack Pro. It eliminates just about all pop ups.
You could eliminate many other things as well, like prevent cookie access to
your computer. It was 29.95 with free dat file upgrades. See:

http://www.adsubtract.com/products.html

I have nothing to do with them, but have used the product for a year now.
Some times I do get blank pop ups, and an occasional real pop.

Hi Dinah,

You need to stop the messenger service, this is not MS Messenger. Have a
look at http://grc.com/stm/shootthemessenger.htm for a tiny download that
will do the job for you. Also have a look at http://grc.com/unpnp/unpnp.htm
for aother tiny widget to plug another hole. Visit
http://grc.com/default.htm to find out more.

A good firewall to use is Zonealarm Pro, you pay for it but it will give you
total control over your PC privacy.

Regards
