I'm one of those who was taken by the virus/worm/trojan
horse a week ago and I'm still trying to get my computer
back to normal. (Fortunately, I have a laptop to pick up
where my main computer lets off.)

I've tried every solution posted to this list.
Interestingly, when I go into the safe made (as
instructed) and try to run some cleansers, I'm told they
won't run in the safe mode.

Yesterday, I finally managed to reload Windows XP as a
repair program and it wiped out my web connection. When I
try to create a new one, it says I don't have
rundll32.exe. That has been a problem in the past.

The funny thing about this is that I get e-mail, but not
the web.

Most of my shortcuts don't work. If I want to run Word,
for example, I go through My Documents, find a document
and click on it. It comes up and then I can create new
documents. That doesn't work, however, in FrontPage. When
I click on a FrontPage document, it comes up in IE, not
FP.

Any thoughts on restoring rundll32.exe would be
appreciated.

P.S.

I did run stinger yesterday and it found and removed 3-4
viruses. I'm running it again.
