View Full Version : XP Security Reventing Remote Access?

I have a small home network with 2 pc's wired and a laptop connecting
via a WAP, seems to work well and means I can access the network when
I am in bed! The 'main' pc runs XP Pro, the other 2 run W2K pro.

I want to start up my dialler program so I can access the Internet
from the laptop. This works fine with ICS on the main pc but to make
the connection I have to run an executable on the main pc (this is BT
Midband so it is a bit unconventional!).

I have a program (downloaded from the CodeProject) which allows me to
monitor, start and stop processes on the other pc's on the network. It
works fine except that the XP pc will not allow a connection from
either of the other 2 pc's.

I am guessing this is an XP security issue and would appreciate any
guidance as to what settings I need to change to allow me remote
access. I am quite new to XP and although it is very similar to W2K a
lot of things seem to be in different places.

Many thanks.
