View Full Version : More Fake MS Updates

December 18th 03, 06:25 PM
I'm being inundated with fake emails from and undelivered emails to MS.
Also, these emails contain "exe or com", but they aren't attachments, these
files are embedded in the body of the letter.

The content type is the same for both the MS email and the undelivered email
notification; "Content-Type: audio/x-wav"; "name = guoqdbc_ DOT_exe" or
"name = bigta_DOT_com."

My questions are: Is there any way to trace these emails?; Is there an
agency somewhere to these people to; and for the big one, How can I
construct a message rule to delete these file at my server.

I'm also checking the configuration for my virus scanner (McAfee v7.0) to
ensure that it's set up properly. But I wonder if these emails will be
caught since the files aren't attachments.

All help is appreciated.
