I am using XP PRO and have installed recovery console.
However I cannot use it as it does not recognise the
administrator password I use even though it is the same
as the one I set up within Windows. Is there another
Admin password that's used and if so how do I find out
what it is or bypass it?

Recovery Console Password
On many XP installations you can't start the Recovery Console because it
won't recognize your password. This registry edit causes the Recovery
Console not to ask for a password. This works for both XP Home and XP
Professional.

Start | Run | Regedit

Navigate to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Cu rrentVersion\Setup\Rec
overyConsole

Set the DWORD SecurityLevel value to 1

Exit Registry and Reboot
