Security Alert

I received message form BigFix that says that I need a
Windows XP home addition to install security alert that
involves Word. My computer came with XP installed and
there is no disk in the Packet. How do I install this
patch?

What is "Bigfix," and why do you trust a "Security Alert" from
them? And any necessary patches, security or otherwise, to WinXP or
Word would be freely available from Microsoft, no CD required.
