How do you either remove or diable Windows Instant
Messenger? I signout and set not to auto open, yet I
still receive messages.

Ok, I did what you instructed us to. It did make Windows
Messenger go away, but now, for some reason, whenever an
event ocurrs in MSN Messenger (i.e. user logs in),
instead of a sound being heard through the speakers, the
sound (beeping noise) is heard through the PC speaker.
How can I change this? Also, is there not another way to
disable Windows Messenger? A few months back I read of a
fix that was done through the registry.

Oh, I forgot to mention, also whenever I get an email in
Outlook also the alert comes through the computer's
speaker.

Greetings Kristian,

I don't believe this is related, but I do have a fix for you.

First, download and run these .reg files (just download and choose Run)
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/dingfix.reg
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/wm_soundfix.reg

Note: in the last .reg file, if your Messenger installation isn't in C:\, you'll need to open
them in Notepad and change the drive letter.

After these are imported, reboot, and see if it now works. If it does, you don't have to
look at the below info.

If not, see this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=262256

Go through the Resolution and see if it applies to you - if it does, follow its instructions
and then try again (although it says you don't need to reboot, you may have to for
Messenger).
