Can't connect after Upgrade to 4.7

I am having the same problem.... I haven't spoken to
a .net guy though (don't know how)

I was using Messenger with no problems. Then,
windowsupdate.microsoft.com showed a new version of
Messenger (4.7) available for download. I downloaded and
installed. Now, it won't sign-in. The net folks here
insist they changed nothing. I was using Messenger just
fine moments before the upgrade.

Any suggestions?"
