I'm really not that stupid! The IBM Thinkpad installation is
thoroughly corrupted, having been a Win2k upgrade. On a
simple logoff to clear open windows because taskmanager
cannot open, my entire account....the whole thing vanished.
After much screwing around, it now appears in safe-mode,
and if I do a re-start from there it logs in just like nothing
ever happened. If I then go to change password' and the
hint is the correct one, it says it is WRONG password. Have
tried every one I can possibly remember. Thanks to all in
advance. I am going to prepare for a format and rebuild and
use 3 partitions on the 40 gig drive. Makes sense. Rich
