Greetings John,

There are a few issues with satellite-based internet access and any VoIP (Voice over IP)
service. There have been reports with Direcway using NAT to connect their users (basically
sharing a public IP address over multiple subscribers, a popular thing among wireless
internet providers). He can check if they're using NAT by clicking Start, All Programs,
Accessories, Communications, and then Network Connections. Double-click the internet
connection, and choose the support tab. Make a note of your IP address. Then go to
http://www.whatismyip.com, and see if the two IPs match -- if they do, then it's a public IP.
If they don't match (and the IP address begins with 192, 172, 10, etc.), then the connection
is probably NAT'd.

Also, the delays involved with sending data from the satellite, to the internet and back
usually amounts to a few seconds and under voice conversations, this can make it almost
unusable.
