Greetings Alan,

A few things could be causing this. Firstly, are you using a router? If so, it will need to
support Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) in order to establish voice/video conversations.
Depending on what router you have, there may be a UPnP firmware update available -- check the
router manufacturer's website or reply back with your router name and model and we should be
able to tell you if it supports UPnP.

Are you using a third-party firewall? If so, you'll need to set it to "Permit All", "Allow
All", or "Medium" (in ZoneAlarm).

You also might try disabling the built-in Internet Connection Firewall in XP, in case it
isn't opening the ports correctly, to do so, click Start, then click the Control Panel. If
you're in category view click Network and Internet connections then click Network
Connections. Right click the network connection, then click Properties. Click the Advanced
Tab, and verify that the Internet Connection Firewall is unchecked.
