I am trying to run Eudora 5.2 on Windows XP and am getting
the following error message:

Could not open the file C:\......\descmap.pce for reading

Cause: Access permission denied. File may be marked as
read only or locked (13)

I removed the 'read only' feature on the Administrator
Eudora folder but am still getting the same error.

Do I go somewhere to change permissions globally in XP?

Thanks.

Hello,

You likely need to give yourself full control of the folder for Eudora 5.2.

1. Right click on the Eudora folder that houses the descmap.pce file and
choose Properties.
2. Click on the Security tab and check the Full Control option for the
Administrator.

You will now have correct permissions to access this file, however, if you
still run into a problem you will need to contact Eudora support.

Best regards,
