Search Function in newsgroups

Hi
Can anyone tell me how to use the microsoft supplied
search function in the newsgroup sections.
I fill in line as required and hit seach but have yet to
get any results. What is the secret?

The search function isn't all that effective on the web-based page. Try =
accessing these groups through a newsreader. I wrote a simple setup for =

Hi

For newsgroup searches, I use this one:

http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search

You can limit the search to one specific newsgroup if you want to.
Just put the newsgroup name you want to search in the field "Return only
messages from the newsgroup ....", e.g. microsoft.public.windowsxp.basics. If
you want to search all the WindowsXP groups, use microsoft.public.windowsxp.*
