Need to know how to turn on XP home Ports for 127.0.0.1
AFTER firewall and ICS is instatlled. Have read the
Micrsoft knowledge base, and it appears that coesnt cover
HOME version. I I really need to know to allow file and
print to run on the local lan

127.0.0.1 is not a valid LAN IP address. It is what is referred to as
"localhost", which you could use if you were running a web server, for local
testing of web content. You only need the firewall turned on for the
connection that actually connects to the internet. You do not need it
turned on for your LAN side connection.

Hi Bobby,

Can you explain your setup? I'm assuming that you have multiple network
interfaces on your ICS host machine... ie Dialup/DSL/Cable and another
internal NIC for local machines. Is this correct, and if so, what
functionality are you looking for? ICF is a per interface setting, so it
will not affect the clients sharing the Internet connection via ICS
relating to File and Print sharing on the internal interface.
