I saw something in xp that gave me the option of running
software in W95 mode.
Does this mean I can run W95 software in XP?

Maybe. Depends on the software. Most will run either without any kind of
compatibility settings but you may have to use compatibility mode when
running some software. I haven't had any problems running most software in
XP written for DOS, Win 3.X or 9X.

Its callled Compatibility Mode. You can right click on a shortcut or file
and select this tab. It will enable some software that wouldn't normally
run under XP to work.
