I run FixIt utilities about weekly to clean out the dead links from
the registry, In the last couple of weeks FixIt has found a dead link
and when asked to remove it does so with out any complaints, when
FixIt is run again, it comes up with the same dead link and it always
says that it can be deleted.

I have tried to delete the dead link with Regedit and Registry Magic
under both Windows and Windows Safe Mode with no success, just an
error saying that the link could not be deleted.

Can Not Delete {436F4AD7-C95B-4d2f-B0F8-8DC643F7A200 } Error while
deleting key.

This is the full key entry in the registry.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{436F4AD 7-C95B-4d2f-B0F8-8DC643F7A200}]

Does anybody else have this key or know how to remove it, I have run
virus scans with AVG (Free) and the eTrust EZ Antivirus program and
the computer comes up clean for viruses.

Thank you for any assistance.
Cheers

Yogi, if you are getting a message that the link cannot be deleted just
leave it alone. I would listen to WinXP's recommendation.

This CLSID may be created by a third-party application you may have =
installed. If you are unable to delete this key, check the permissions =
for that key and the respective software is not running. Or, leave this =
key as it is.
