In the last day my Microsoft Messenger (Ver ) has started
giving me a pop-up information block with "A new version
of Windows Messenger is now available> Click here for more
information."

When I click I get the "newer version...install now" Yes /
No dialog. On choosing yes I receive the following
security warning....

Warning - The authenticity of this content cannot be
verified, therefore it can not be trusted.

Problem Listed Below:
An error occured while accessing online revication server.

This has occured both from my work location (restrictive
firewall but most certificate based things work) and from
my home (less restrictive firewall).

Any thoughts?

Greetings Kevin,

This sometimes occurs when your PC can't reach the revocation server -- it's safe to ignore.
If you download a copy from:
http://messenger.microsoft.com/download/download.asp?client=0, most likely you won't see this
error.
