With APM or older ACPI system, power options are installed but not enabled.
Check in Control Panel> Power Options. Is there an APM tab? If yes, check
the necessary box to enable it.

If you do not find an APM tab, go to Device Manager and have it show hidden
devices. Look for a device named "APM/NT Legacy Node." If there is a red X
on it, try enabling it (right click> enable). There may or may not be an
APM tab in Power Options added for you to work with but the auto-shutdown
feature of the ATX board should be working once again.
