Deleting files on desktop

[Paul Wadland]

I have two files on my desktop which I want to delete but each time I try
I get the message "these files are being used by another program or person
and cannot be deleted". I know this is not true but cannot delete them, any
ideas ?

Thanks for the info. but I still cannot seem to delete the files, tried
lots of ways with no success !!!!!

Don't know about XP, but in 98SE you reboot and before doing anything else
try to delete them. This works in 98SE/

What are the file names? Did you put them on the desktop or did some
program do it?

They were downloaded from the Abit website to flash the bios on my sons
PC. I copied them onto a floppy to boot his PC with. My motherboard is also
an Abit and I'm now a bit concerned that it's not a coincidence that my
machine thinks they are in use !
