I think you mean the messenger service built in windows
(or netsend) and not the msn messenger.
if so: goto
services in system conrol ("%SystemRoot%\system32
\services.msc /s")
Then look for the value with the name "messenger" and
disable it (double click and somewhere you see the
value "automatic" change it to "disabled")
