Hi experts,
Win XP SP1, Win Messenger 4.7.2009 after n minutes of inactivity goes
into "Away" mode, no problem, but remains there even when I am back on
the system. When I was much younger I remember it used to come back to
life!

Hi Max,

Indeed it should -- sometimes you need to do some typing before it actually awakens.
Otherwise, just right-click the icon, choose My Status and choose Online as a workaround.

So my problem is that after intensive typing still Win Messenger is
AWAY!
