Hi all,

If I go in to the user accounts in my WinXPHome install and click on
"Change the way users log on or off", I get an error message
"Automation Server Can't Create object".
If I click OK, I can change the flags, but when I click "Apply
Options" they are not applies - when I go back into the same screen
they are still switched off.

I noticed this after installing the .net 1.1 framework from the
windows update site, whilst I was trying to work out how to bypass the
user selection "Welcome" screen at startup. (the .net seems to
install some kind of dummy user account which then makes windows boot
to the welcome screen even though this is a single user machine).

I have found a way to do that anyway by typing CONTROL USERPASSWORDS2,
so I can work around the problem. However I'm wondering what is
causing this error in the first place. Any ideas?
thx
Pat
