Hi,

Common issue, especially after installing NeroMix, etc....

Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key: HKEY_USERS. If it doesn't
have a Data entry in the right pane that reads: (value not set), double
click (Default) and delete it. If it does, check your HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21
keys for the same.

Restore System Default Sounds (Line 6)

Try reseating the sound card in the socket, that should do it, while you
have it, clean off dust and then look at it closly now make sure all you
contacts are there and in good condition, I had the same problem once, but
it was my memory cause my computer to do strange and interesting things,
some of the contacts had been corroded cause a general memory failure in
certain chips. So I cleaned the card and the socket and then proceed to
switch the memory cards places, I have had no problems since.
