Hi

I appear to have 2 versions of messnger on my XP Pro machine and I don't
know how to get rid of the older version.

They both try and start on startup and cancel each other out.

How do I fix this please?

You probably installed MSN Messenger and Windows Messenger. For an XP system
I recommend to keep only the Windows Messenger installed. I suppose you can
uninstall the MSN messenger by using the "control panel" -> "software".
