opening apps initiallizes an installer??

Greetings,
I have a very strange dilemma. For the past eight or nine days my system has
been acting strangely in this way; every time I open MSIE, or Windows
Explorer, or My Documents (among a few others) a Windows Installer somehow
initializes wanting to install Microsoft Money 2003. I've had Money 2003 on
my machine for months with no problems. To be honest, I can't think of a
single thing that caused this odd behavior. When I'm opening MSIE initially
I have to close the installer three times, and if I want to open something
in a new browser window after MSIE is already running, then I only have to
close the installer once. With "My Documents" and "Windows Explorer" among
others, it only comes up once or twice. It always happens before the
application or the folder or explorer opens, and whatever I am trying to
open will not open until I close the installer however many times it tries
to initialize. I am flaberghasted here. I installed nothing new, did nothing
out of the ordinary when this problem began. It just "happened" somehow. If
anyone has any ideas, I'd sure appreciate hearing from you. Thanks in

its a bug of the windows installer.

There is a solution in the microsoft knowlage base.

Go to the www.microsoft.com site and search the knowlage base.

Had the same problem. Always happened after using one of those registry
cleaning apps. Reinstalling the MS Money 2k3 should solve the problem.

Do me a favor (either one of you or both) and export this key and send it to
me via e-mail: Start/Run/Regedit

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\<Money...>

Also while there, see if this line exists in the right pane:
"UserData"=dword:00000001
