Delete the files in the REPOSITORY folders (..\system32\wbem)
(you will have to turn off the winmanagement service to do that)

'net stop winmgmt'
delete files
then restart Windows

Hi Mark,

Unfortunately that did not do it. Anything else that can be done?

Thanks,

Nospam

Hi Everyone,

Despite all the excellent suggestions and troubleshooting tips which I used
for several hours, it was to no avail. Reinstalling XP finally fixed the
problem.

Again, thank you very much for your assistance.
