Windows Messenger POPups

I do not use windows messenger. Yet i still get these
ANNOYING pop-ups! Will someone tell me how to remove
this program from my computer or shut these things off???
I know there are programs you can DL or pay for.. but I
would rather kill the thing with out doing that. Please
email me with a solution to this problem. thank you !!

Carl,
Actually this is a service that is part of Windows and it doesn't have
anything to do with msmsgs.exe which is MSN Messenger.
To stop getting this garbage follow these steps to disable the Messenger
Service.

Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services
Scroll down the list a bit and highlight "Messenger"
Right click the highlighted item and click PROPERTIES
Then press STOP
Select Disable in the Startup Type scroll section.
Then click OK.

You won't get these annoying spams anymore!
