View Full Version : clicking on a File Folder always opens explorer windo

Every folder icon I hit began opening a command window.
Right click on the icon and "Open Command Window Here"
was in bold as the default action. "Open" "Explore"
and "Search" were also available. I opened the file
viewer and found that on the "File Folder" file
actions "Open Command WIndow" was in bold as the default
action, "Explore" was listed. But there was no "Open"! to
change to the default to! I clicked "Add", typed Open and
then browsed to find Explorer.exe. I then selected "Open"
as the default action, but afterword, even with
the "Browse in same window" bubble selected on the
General Folder Options tab.

I have hunted through the Knowledge base and the various
books available in stores for the correct default action
that I should have entered into the file action window,
but can find nothing. It works now but its bloody
annoying to get a new window every time. I have to
navigate with the old explorer format to avoid this. And
I wonder if this is not the symptom of some other
potential problem.

Any help would be much appreciated. (I have done viruscan
with latest Symantec, and have detected nothing)

Thanks,
Paul

Tried that, got a regsvr completed successfully message,
