Insert your XP CD and open a Command Prompt window. Type in the following
commands:

EXPAND -R X:\I386\SNDVOL32.EX_ C:\Windows\System32\dllcache
EXPAND -R X:\I386\SNDVOL32.EX_ C:\Windows\System32

Where X is the drive letter of your CD-Rom drive. This also assumes that XP
is installed to C:\Windows. If not, adjust the commands accordingly.
