View Full Version : Sound not working

I have a sound card in my system that appears to work properly. For
example I can go into the sound part of control panel and play any
system sounds. The problem is it appears it won't play the system
sounds at many points in programs. For example in Windows Messenger
when a new email comes in instead of playing the usual sound it just
makes a beep on the computer's speaker. The same thing happens in
Outlook XP when a new email comes in. It just uses the computers
speaker for a beep. This didn't happen until a few days ago. Any
idea what is going on?
If someone really solves this problem, I pray to be blessed in this
and next world!

Greetings Mark,
First, download and run these .reg files (just download and choose Run)
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/dingfix.reg
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/wm_soundfix.reg
Note: in the last .reg file, if your Messenger installation isn't in C:\, you'll need to open
it in Notepad and change the drive letter.
After these are imported, reboot, and see if you're now able to get sound.
