I just installed the latest update to messenger and since
I did that my contacts ca't hear my voice in the video
conversation. They can hear everything else including the
keyboard. I have checked all my hardware and everything
is working perfectly. Can anyone help please. I can hear
them just fine.

Greetings Susan,
A few things could be causing this. Firstly, make sure you've gone through the Audio (and
Video) Tuning Wizard recently (open the main Messenger window, click the Tools menu, then
Audio Tuning Wizard).
Secondly, try turning off any firewall you might have engaged, including the Windows XP
Internet Connection Firewall -- click Start, then click the Control Panel. If you're in
category view click Network and Internet connections then click Network Connections. Right
click your network/internet connection, then click Properties. Click the Advanced Tab, and
verify that the Internet Connection Firewall is unchecked.
Thirdly, if you're using a router, in order for voice conversations to be successful, it will
either have built-in support for Messenger voice/video (usually turned on by setting your
computer into the DMZ of the router, see router documentation on how to turn this on) or need
to support Universal Plug and Play (UPnP). There may be an update for your router to support
UPnP, look on your router manufacturers website to see if there's an update for your routers
firmware to allow your router to support UPnP. If you do have a router, and it does already
support UPnP, you may just need to remove the current forwardings -- to do so, click Start,
All Programs, Accessories, Communications, Network Connections. Right-click the "Internet
Gateway" (should be under the Internet Gateway heading) and choose Properties. Choose the
Settings button, click each 'msmsgs' or 'msnmsgr' entry and then choose 'Delete' to each one.
Then close Messenger (right-click the Messenger icon, choose Exit), then restart Messenger
and try a voice/video conversation again.
All of these may be problems on your contacts' side as well, so asking them to do the same as
above my help.
