Changing the user name in Messenger

When we installed msn we were asked for an email name, we
thought it was a contact email, so we put
now we have our msn address of ...
but we only want
Does anyone know how to remove this and start new, or
chage it???????

Greetings Donna,

Unfortunately you can't change a @msn.com e-mail address -- once it's set, that's it. You
can either make a new account using your yahoo account at http://register.passport.net (so
your passport will be ), sign up for a Hotmail account at http://www.hotmail.com
(so ) or you can load MSN Explorer and make a new MSN.com account
).

After you've made your new account, you'll need to save your contact list from your current
Passport (they'll be deleted if you don't). Sign into Messenger using your current Passport,
click the File menu and then select Save Contact List. The default filename should be fine,
and just save it on your Desktop. Go to the Desktop and verify that the file was created.

You'll then want to delete your current contacts off your main contact list (after you've
saved them), so that they can remove the old address off their lists completely. Just
right-click each contact, and choose Delete.

Then, sign-in to your new Passport in Messenger. Then, click the File menu, then select
Import Contacts from a Saved File, then locate the file you just saved on your desktop and
select it. Your contacts will be readded, and they'll all need to add the new Passport to
their list.
