Henry, try this it fixed my problem.
I ran MSCONFIG and did a selective startup, turned off
the system.ini and win.ini. Went to the services tab
and selected hide all MS services, then disabled the rest.
Rebooted and it worked. Then I added them back one by
one, rebooting between each one and testing, until I
found the offending service. And here it is...drum
roll please.....
Cisco Systems, Inc. VPN Service "c:\Program Files\Cisco
Systems\VPN client\cvpnd.exe" set to start
automatically...I set it manual and everything works
but VPN...
