Hi all,
I've posted this question a month or two ago, but the problem still remains
unresolved. I am trying to videoconference behind a Linksys BEFW11S4
wireless router, under XP Pro, having tried BOTH MSN Messenger and Windows
Messenger and cannot get it to work. Here are the things I've tried:
1) Flashed latest firmware update for router to enable UPnP (under the rx.
of Jonathan chez MS)
2) Disabled Norton & Windows firewall
3) Set static IP address to webcam client, hoping that setting this IP
address into DMZ will open all ports, and therefore make things work,
4) Tried both MSN Messenger and Windows Messenger.
My brother and I have identical setups, and are quite bummed out at MS claim
to have video and voice integration to their latest products. We have been
loyal MS fans, but am starting to have second thoughts....
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Denis

Only MSN Messenger 5 use UPnP, Windows Messenger 4.7 doesn't so wont
work with the router unless you do port forwarding. See my post a bit
further down about setting up UPnP services in XP. We seem to get a
bit futher than you and things sometimes work if only one way.
