If anyone needed evidence of Microsoft's power and ability
to influence, Messenger so-called service is it.

well, for starters, why doesnt microsoft make the information turning this
thing off easy to access...not too many people use newsgroups anymore, and
even in here, its obviously a problem...in my opinion, microsoft is a bunch
of assholes, and they are probably making money off of this to keep it
quiet.
response?

Your answers to people who are enraged about
Messenger "Service" seem incongruous. You say Microsoft
can do nothing about spam but then go on to point out how
a person can disable the "Service". Why doesn't Microsoft
do something like AOL and put a support buttons to block
spam and also provide pop-up controls?

Hi Cuthbert,
It's in the knowledge base, these groups, computer magazines, computer tv shows... besides a
"Turn off your Messenger Service" advertising campaign, I think they've done pretty well
*grin*.
Yet, I do think a better solution would be to have it automatically (with option) turn it off
in the next service pack.

Hi Dave,
The "Messenger Service" was made over a decade ago, it's only this past year that it's begun
being exploited. It was never really designed to accommodate blocking, or any types of rules
on its function (although of course, this is now being considered for future Windows
versions).

Good luck to MS I say! If we all had static IPs of course that would solve
the need for a "sign-in" monoperlier.
Once MSN/M Netmeeting etc become one functional app,, I will be able to
place any type of comunication with a passport holder.
I WAIT FOR INTERGRATION!!
Im still waiting.
Im still waiting,
Nothings happened whats going wrong?
