Kelly posted this a while back:

Scheduled Tasks - Auto Start (getting tasks to run when no one is
logged on). If you follow these steps, the shedlgu.txt file will be replaced
without any information other than system start-up information upon the first
boot.

Go to Start/Run/Msconfig. Click Selective Startup and uncheck Load System
Services, click ok. Reboot.

Upon reboot, click OK to the first Window that indicates
that you have selected "Selective Startup". When the
System Configuration Utility reappears, Check the Normal
Startup Box.

Then go to Start/Search and type in: schedlgu.txt. When it appears, right click
on the file and delete it. Reboot.

Having the same problem. Thanks to the message below, that took me into the
SCHEDlgu.txt file.

I took the error code, which was: The task completed with an exit code of
(80), and entered it into Microsoft Knowledge base, and it took me to this
TID:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;812400

I followed the adivice in that TID for a workaround, and that fixed my
problem. My scheduled backup is now working.

That fix was to turn off the HID Input Service.

I might point out this does NOT fix all Schedule problems. My Norton
AntiVirus schedule still fails, with the following error:
The task completed with an exit code of (65).

Searching the MS Knowledge base does not help on that one.

Hope this info helps you.

Roger
