I am having trouble establishing a remote assistance
session with my friend in Baltimore(both using XP pro and
Messenger 4.6). I am using a dial-up connection through
AOL. He is using a high speed connection thru his cable
supplier in conjunction with AOL. When we try to
establish a session - it gets all the way to the part
when the novice screen should appear, then it gets
disconnected because of something to do with the "remote
host name". We tried it by asking for assistance from
either computer and still get the same problem. We can
send instant messages, just can't do the remote
assistance.
I have been able to successfully connect with two other
computers and both worked fine (they were also dial ups
like mine though)
Could you please shed any light on this?
Thanks, Steve
