You Cant.
Windows Messenger 4.7 and MSN Messenger 5.0 are two
different programs. The stupid update message popup tells
you of an update to MSN Messenger 5.0 - this is NOT an
update for Windows Messenger 4.7. WM4.7 IS the latest
WINDOWS messenger update. Windows Messenger is for XP
users only. If you try this so called update...you get
MSN Messenger 5.0 installed instead...Nice huh?
Heres the thing... I cant figure out if Microsoft wants
everybody to migrate to MSN Messenger 5.0 or what?? A
feature like "tabs" in MSN Messenger 5.0 for example is
not available in Windows Messenger 4.7...why???
Windows Messenger has its own video conferencing thing,
but to be able to be compatible and video conference with
non-XP systems - Netmeeting is envoked (Windows Messenger
can be setup to use Netmeeting and diasables the builkt
in Windows Messenger 4.7 video conferencing by changing
the compatibility setting)...just a note.
So, the wuestion is...do you stick with 4.7 or do you go
with 5.0?
