Error log: CDROM's bad block

I have a IDE SONY DVD-rom 16/40 speed. However the device
cant be used anymore as the device cant read any cds.
Error log: The device, \Device\CdRom0, has a bad block.

Use Device Manager to remove the device listing, and restart windows.
