sending pictures

When sending picture files through Windows Messenger to
another computer they usually have(what looks like
colored ribbons or lines) going through them. Any help
would be appreciated.

Greetings Linda,

There isn't anything specific that would cause this to happen but do you happen to be using a
Linksys router? If so, you may need to set your MTU to 1492 (instead of the default 1500),
see router documentation how to do this (usually in the router configuration, Advanced tab,
Filters, near the bottom of the page).
