Lockups can be a symptom of heat problems. Be sure that the case has
sufficient room for airflow, that the fans are working and that dirt is not
obstructing the vents.

Another suspect is the video card. Seek out an updated driver from the chip
or card manufacturer's WEBsite. Installation instructions are often
provide. If problems arise, ROLL BACK to the prior driver. This procedure
is best left to folks who are familiar with it.
