View Full Version : Cannot Configure Read E-Mail to Open in Hotmail

I have recently had to reformat my hard drive, and when
downloading MSN Instant Messenger, I installed all the
add-ins (I think), but on the main panel of MSN, where it
says, "Read E-Mail," it opens in my default email account
Microsoft Outlook. Formerly, however, on the panel, it
would go to my Hotmail account. I do not see how to
CHANGE this setting under Options, nor do I find how to
change this in the Product Support Services articles on
the Microsoft Site.

Is it possible to change the Read E-Mail to send me to my
Hotmail account?

Any help would be appreciated!

The Messenger Plus! add in can be useful.

It has the ability to alter the email account being checked.

Greetings Steve,

Messenger will only check your Hotmail account if you're using a Hotmail.com or MSN.com
Passport to sign in, and you have the MSN Add-In installed. Note that Messenger Plus checks
POP3 accounts only, which Hotmail doesn't support.
