I used to be able to check for windows upgrades and had
no problem upgrading. Recently, I dont know if I have
changed a setting but when I check for the upgrades and
attempt to upgrade ANY files,,, I get red letters
telling me that I need to agree to the license
agreement. I never had this type of message before. I
dont even know where to check for the license agreement
to sign. Can anyone help me with this?

Dave;
What is the OS?
Check this link:
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/
Look for "EULA does not pop up..."

Otherwise see if another solution is appropriate.
