View Full Version : Choosing processor affinity for an application?

Hello,

I have an old game I've been trying to run (Thief II). It
has been locking up on me within 1-2 minutes of loading,
so I emailed the company tech support. THey told me that
I should "set the affinity of Thief II to use only one
processor" (I have a dual processor system). I really
don't have any idea how to do this, and neither did the
tech support guy, he just thought that was the issue.
Short of actually removing the processor from the
motherboard, how might I "set the affinity" to useo nly
one processor?

Thanks a lot!

Ivan

Thanks a lot for your response. However I am still not
sure how to go about this.

Games not written to run on two or more processors automatically run on one
processor. It sounds like doubletalk to me.
